Obituary of Anne Elizabeth Atherton
Due to the weather Services have been canceled. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from Castle. Mrs. Anne Elizabeth Atherton (Patterson) passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 23, 2015 with her family by her side. Born in St. George she was a daughter of the late Emery George and Laura Katherine “Kitty” (Goss) Patterson. Anne was a survivor of juvenile diabetes for 70 years. She was a very positive person and not one to complain. She always had a smile. Anne was an avid card player and would never pass up a game of cards. Spending her summers at New River with her Husband, Children, other relatives and friends. Survived by her husband of 51 years Frank Edward Atherton; her son John Emery Atherton (Barbara Unan) of North York, ONT.; daughter Mary Pearl (Stephen Miskulin) of Cranbrook, BC.; one brother Alan Goss Patterson (Norma) and Sister Mary G. Stevenson (Frederick) of Don Mills, ONT. Also survived by 2 grandchildren Allie Elizabeth and Benjamin Louis and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Murray, Lauron and Monica. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 11am. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the SJRH Palliative Care Unit or to the charity of donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
