Obituary of Jane Irene Hoben
It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Jane Irene Hoben on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Shannex Tucker Hall. Born in Saint John, N.B., on February 10, 1945, Jane was a daughter of the late Carroll Leo May and Kathleen (Legoff) May, and beloved widow of the late Merle Reuben John Hoben.
Jane lit up any room she entered, was a very zany, creative person, she loved crafts, painting pictures, drawing, and was a wedding decorator, and could make anything. She loved her family and had a special way with her grandkids whom she adored, they were her life. She had such a funny sense of humor and made everyone laugh. She touched a lot of people she met along the way with her silly ways. Loved by everyone.
Jane is survived by her daughter; Tammy (Jason) Seelye, of Saint John, son; Merle (Lori) Hoben, of Saint John, three grandchildren; Shelby(Eddie), Douglas, and Paige, three great grandchildren; George, Posie, and Cillian. She was pre-deceased by her five brothers; Danny, Carl, Richard, Paul and David May eight sisters; Barbara Isaac, Nancy Kirk, Ann Hunter, Kathy Gee, Mary Kinney, Patricia Collrin, Susan May and Margaret May.
She is now reunited with her siblings ”Let the shenanigans begin”
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). A visitation will be held at Castle Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11:00am in Castle ”Fallsview” Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will be held at Castle Funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.Castlefh.ca.
