Obituary of Robert Sherwood Bustin
It is with broken hearts the family of Robert Sherwood Bustin wish to announce his unexpected passing on Thursday October 2, 2025. Born in Saint John, N.B. on October 4, 1944, Robert was the only son to Pearson ‘Pete” Bustin and Lena (Sherwood) Bustin, and beloved husband to the late Margaret “Peggy” Lillian (Clark) Bustin.
Growing up Bob played in a band and that is where he met the love of his life, Peggy and they were happily married for 56 years.
He loved his trips to Florida with family and friends, camping and many family gatherings over the years.
He was an avid collector of coins, stamps, bottles and a Member of the Saint John Coin Club as well as Fort LaTour Committee
Having worked at Kent Building Supplies for a number of years he was a friendly face to many who came to the store and also where he made lasting friendships with his co-workers.
He enjoyed fishing, air shows, metal detecting (along the beaches in Saint John and Florida and puttering in the yard. His passion for the outdoors was undeniable.
Beloved Papa to his grandchildren he never left a conversation without ending with “I love You”.
He has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him and will be forever missed. He is gone from us but now reunited with his forever love Peggy.
Robert is survived by his son; Brad (Jan Adams) Bustin, of Chance Harbor, his daughter; Tasha (John) Rocca, of Saint John, six grandchildren; Kristen Adams, of Chance Harbor, Justus Adams, Draven Adams, Dominic Rocca, Ella Rocca, and Adrianna Rocca, all of Saint John, four great grandchildren; August Adams, Acacia Adams, Hudson Adams, and Everleigh Adams, one sister; Ann Morrison, of Saint John, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Robert was predeceased by his parents; Pete and Lena Bustin, and his wife; Margaret ‘Peggy’ Bustin.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. A reception will be held following the service.
