Obituary of Linda Kay Byers
It’s with heavy hearts that the family of Linda Kay (Seelye) Byers announces her passing while surrounded by family, on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at Bobby’s Hospice after a brief illness. Linda was born on September 8th 1954, in Saint John, to Kathleen (Knight) Hovey and the late Charles Seelye. Linda spent most of her career working at JDI (35 years) in Payroll, she then went on to work at the Westside Walmart in 2007 as a claims associate. Linda was an extremely hard worker, she spent most of her life looking after others; her family was her life. Linda’s grandchildren were her world. She took great interest in any sport her granddaughter Madison played. She also loved quilting, shopping trips to Bangor and enjoyed a good sappy Hallmark movie. Linda will be dearly missed by her mother Kathleen, sons; Richard (Dawn) Byers and John (Kayla) Byers, brother Paul (Brenda) Seelye, sister Janet (Jeff) Curtis, 7 grandchildren; Matthew, Michael, Joshua, Madison, Kelsey, Dominic and Jackson, great grandson Chase, several nieces and nephews and her best friend Lynn Sheppard. She is predeceased by her father Charles Seelye, step father Galen Hovey, husband Richard Byers Sr. (married February 3, 1973) , brother Norman and mother in-law Beulah Byers. The family would like to thank Bobby's Hospice staff for their care and compassion given to Linda during her stay. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28th , 2020 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, with a Reception afterwards at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
