Dear Coleen and extended family of Ken Steen; On behalf of the executive and membership of Saint John Vocational Alumni Association I send most sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Our thoughts and prayers for strength and comfort are with you as you traverse this most difficult path on the road of life. May time heal the pain but never dull the wonderful memories you have each shared together with him over a life time. Ken was among some of the first students I met when I started SJVS in 1959. I remember him as one of the nicest guys in Mr. Shaw's class. I moved on through several other classes that year and lost touch, however, years later when I moved back to New Brunswick and heard of "Steen's Barber Shop" I often wondered if it was him and was always going to stop in but am seldom in Saint John and never got there. He was a friendly, kind and a gentle soul even then, just as people remember him on here in later life. It was a pleasure to have known him and to remember him. So please accept my personal sympathy as well. Sincerely; Louise Jonah-Craine ('59-'62) Alumni Liaison

I was a member of the Lancaster Kiwanis with Ken for a number of years and also a frequent customer at his shop on Main Street. I haven't talked to Ken for some years but I recall him as a kind, gentle and hard-working person who led a quiet but good life. I'm saddened by your loss.

Jimmy and Melany....I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing......his dad was my dad's best friend in their younger years. {Alfred Toner) and his mom was my mom's cousin (Phyllis Toner). I remember all the stories my dad told me about things they had done ( very innocent) by todays standards....I was also a baby that his parents boarded. Through Bertha mom and dad adopted me. Jimmy always said he held me before dad did. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.
