Obituary of Cathy Jeanne Whitenect

The Family Of Cathy Jeanne Whitenect wish to announce her sudden passing on Wednesday February 19, 2020. This beautiful soul will be dearly missed by her loving husband Frank Whitenect, her handsome boys James Russell (Vanessa), Jake, John and stepson Jeffrey Whitenect. Parents Wiley and Catherine Waugh with Her siblings, Kevin, Beverley, Wiley, Holland , Verna, and Jason along with their partners and many nieces and nephews. Cathy is predeceased by her paternal grandparents Fraser and Verna Waugh and brother Gerald Waugh. Cathy left her imprint on so many hearts and we will always laugh and smile about her tremendous courage, strength, sense of humour and her compassion. She loved with her whole being and those in her life knew that, especially her boys. Her partners in crime were dear and many; Eleanor Crowley, Donna Chandler, Virginia Giberson Tompkins, Nila Prossor and Holly Guthrie. These ladies worked together, played together and made much mischief together. They took all their children on outings and adventures, always sharing responsibilities. They had a closeness that many would envy and Cathy was often the heart of the operation. Much loved and respected as an amazing post natal nurse at the Saint John Regional Hospital, snuggling babies was her ideal job and she performed those duties with much love, grace and care for more than twenty years. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 23 rd from 2:00 PM –8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Monday, February 24 th at 11:00 AM. A Reception will follow in Castle “Fallsview” Reception Centre with interment afterwards at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
