Obituary of Blaine Linwood Burgess
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Blaine “Pidge” Linwood Burgess of Grand Bay – Westfield, announces his passing on November 19, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital while surrounded by family. Blaine was born on March 10, 1938 to the late Robert D. and Bertie E. (Worden) Burgess in Saint John, NB. Blaine spent his career working as a welder for many years. He was also a proud Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 member for 46 years, he loved attending the Legion Dances. Blaine enjoyed metal detecting and his trips to Cuba. He also spent many years at Wally’s Campground camping and barbequing with his family. Blaine is survived by his partner Rosemary Leger, his children; Blaine (Margie), Mark, Kimberly (Bruce) of Vancouver, BC, Fern (Chuck) and Ryan, brother Vernon (Darlene) of Riverview, NB, sister in-law Isabel, ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, infant son Winston, wives Marie and Barb, sister Evelyn and brothers Ronald and Les. Resting at Castle Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 6:00PM – 8:00PM. A Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 Tribute Service will take place on Thursday, November 21st, at 7:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with a reception afterwards at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69. Donations in Blaine’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
