Obituary of Margery Lorna Malcolm
Margery Lorna (Young) Malcolm passed away peacefully with family present on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the age of 84 years in Saint John, NB. Margery was born in Montreal, QC and lived and worked there until she and her husband, Robert, moved to Angola to begin a life of Christian service in Angola, Congo (Zaire, DRC), Kenya, Brazil and Canada. Amongst her many endeavors she enjoyed teaching Nutrition, Sewing, and Public Health to high school girls and local women’s groups. She was also called upon to homeschool her three sons at various times during their school years. Margery was blessed with a rich blend of friends and family from many countries and greatly appreciated every opportunity to catch up over a meal. She leaves behind her three sons, Glenn (Jill) Malcolm, Brian (Lynda) Malcolm, Dale (Peggy Barton) Malcolm; her six grandchildren, Sara, Paul, Camila, Gina, Adam, Matthew; her sister, Joyce Tabah; her sisters-in-law Shirley(Peter) Ingram, Elizabeth Malcolm, Dorothy Young; and nieces and nephews. Margery was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Robert Malcolm; her parents, Douglas and Ruth Young; brothers, Bruce Young, Ross Young; brothers-in-law Fred Tabah, David Malcolm; sisters-in-law Dorothy Young, Audrey Young; and grandson Denis. A Celebration of Life service will be held at RiverCross Church, 61 Forbes Drive, Saint John on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2:30pm. The service will be live streamed: https://www.youtube.com/rivercrosschurchsaintjohn Visitation will take place prior to the service at RiverCross Church from 12pm to 2pm. Covid precautions require wearing of masks and social distancing.
