Obituary of Brian Bliss Bishop
It is with great sadness, the family of Brian “Jim” Bliss Bishop would like to announce his passing on May 31, 2017. Brian was born on November 30, 1949 in Chipman, NB to the late Kenneth Lee Bishop and Bertha Frances Stilwell. Brian worked at Irving Pulp and Paper for 37 years and loved his job before retiring in 2005. Brian, the country boy at heart, was the head of the union at the Pulp and Paper Mill, avid hunter and outdoorsmen, loved carpentry and often made picnic tables, swings, and flower boxes. Brian also loved his family, children and attended various churches in the city. He is survived by his beloved wife Sharon, daughters; Tanya Bishop (Randy) of Nerepis, Crystal Lynn Bishop of Saint John, NB, brother; Glenn Bishop (Melissa) of Chipman, NB, sisters; Phyllis Jardine of Surrey, BC, Grace Smith (Jack) of Chipman, NB, Sandra Robinson and Lynn Boudreau of Chipman, NB, grandchildren Matthew J. Hayward of Saint John and Caitlain M. Hayward of Nerepis, NB as well as several nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his parents, brother Lee Bishop and sisters; Katherine Fowler, Allison Bishop, Barbara Morrell, and Doris Wilson. Arrangements are under the care of Castle funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Castle Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 2:00pm from Castle Funeral Home Chapel followed by a reception at the Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Interment will take place at Chipman Cemetery at a later date. Donations to Canadian Diabetes Association, War Amps Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
