Obituary of Cyril Daniel Caleb Hoddinott
It is with great sadness that the family of Cyril Daniel “Danny” Caleb Hoddinott announce his sudden passing on November 20th, 2019 in Grand Manan, NB. Danny was born on December 7, 1965 to Cyril Smith and Edna (Doucette) Hoddinott in Grand Falls-Windsor, NFLD. Danny worked for many years at Costal Enterprises before joining his brother at M&M plumbing. Danny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren – they were his pride and joy. Sunday Dinner and BBQ’s were very special to him and his family, they always enjoyed those times together. He was also an avid gardener, it was his favourite way to relax. Danny will be dearly missed by his mother Edna Hoddinott, wife Krista Stewart of 34 years, children; Jeremy Stewart, Kyle (Kristen) Stewart, Kayla (Jason) Wood, brother Sean (Marilyn) Hoddinott, sisters; Bonita (Alton) Burke, Christine (Rick) McFarlane, Jacqueline Coombs (Andrew), Kinny-Lynn (Philip) Newman, Elaine Smith, and Jennifer Hoddinott, 4 grandchildren; Nathan, August, Acacia and Jace, many nieces and nephews and his best friend of 32 years Gerard Bungay. He is predeceased by his father Cyril Smith, step father Kenneth Hoddinott and infant brother John Hoddinott. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November, 24th, 2019 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM -8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Monday, November 25th, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Maces Bay Cemetery. Donations in Danny’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Saint John SPCA or the charity of the donor’s choice.
