Obituary of Bertha Mary Ferguson
It is with great sadness, the family of Bertha Mary Ferguson announces her passing on April 25, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Bertha was born in Randolph to the late Raymond Sonier and Emilie Bourgeois on June 4, 1922. Bertha was a loving and devoted wife of the late Robert Enright Ferguson (1971), as well as mother and grandmother. Bertha was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, member of the Denis Morris Community Center and club, and enjoyed bowling and bingo. She is survived by her son; Brian Douglas Ferguson of Saint John, NB, Daughters; Linda Marie McQuaid (Arthur) of Quispamsis, NB, Annette Louise Collins (Kenneth) of Rothesay, NB, brother-in-law William Lawlor of Saint John, NB, as well as seven grandchildren; Matthew Ferguson, Brittany Shaw, Luke Ferguson, Colin McQuaid, Ragan Collins, Leah Ferguson, and Niall McQuaid, one great-grandson; Jettson Shaw, and several nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Louise LeBlanc, and three brothers; Lawrence Saulnier, Norman Sonier, and Edward Sonier (Infant). Arrangements will be under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visiting will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. A reception will follow the service at the Denis Morris Community Center. Interment will follow the reception at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations would be appreciated by the family to any organization of choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
