Obituary of Eleanor May Monaghan
After a lengthy stay in hospital, Eleanor (Reid) Monaghan of Grand Bay passed away on August 9, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Harold Reid and the late Genevieve (Brown) Reid. Former member of Grand Bay Lionettes and known as the “cake lady” for many years. Also, former mail carrier for Westfield before retiring to summers in Campbellton PEI were her and Ray spent their retirement together and enjoyed many visitors from home. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Raymond, daughter; Heather Monaghan-Daigle (Alan), son; Joseph Monaghan (Lori) granddaughter; Theresa Daigle, two brothers Doug & Sterling Reid, Sister; Wanda Rooney, brothers-in-law Clair (Christine), Peter (Noline), Charlie (Georgina) sisters-in-law Bertha (Ralph) Clements, Eva Robins (Henry) as well as many nieces and nephews Predeceased by her parents Genevieve (Brown) Reid and Harold Reid, daughter Patricia as well as 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Thanks for the kindness and care from the Gatehouse staff, Cleaning and Food service and Nursing Staff on 4C North for taking such good care of our Mom and Dad it will not be forgotten. Thank you for the birthday party it meant so much to Mom and us to see how much you care. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:00AM from Castle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place after the service at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
