Obituary of Raymond Thomas Keleher
On Thursday, May 18, 2017, Raymond had a peaceful passing upon the morning sunrise at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative care, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born and raised on Tower Street, Saint John and was a proud westsider. Married 62 years with his lifetime partner and love of his life MaryAnne (Ouellette), they met at Bay Shore on one foggy night at a CYO outing. Together, they shared a passion for dancing (CYO and 30 Up Club), bowling, curling, a zest for life and celebrating with family. He worked at Rusco Windows in his late 20’s and then forwarded his working career at Kimberly-Clark, which is known as Irving Tissue, until his retirement in 1994. Raymond was a natural sportsman and a karaoke sensation at home and with his gang at the Peel Pub. He was an avid golfer, loved playing 18 holes at Rockwood Park, an avid bowler at Lancaster Bowlarama and in his later years, found his way back to the pool room at Fairville Shooters. He shared many fond memories of his sports adventures and cherished the friends he made along the way. Raymond will be dearly missed by his wife MaryAnne, his two children; son, Wayne Thomas Keleher (Tammy Williams) of Saint John, daughter, Pamela Marie Boudreau and her husband Mike of Saint John, sister; Marlene Johnsen of Chilliwack B.C, sister in-law Alice Ouellette and Cecile Keleher of Saint John, brother in-law Herb Roy of Newington CT, his grandchildren; Ryan Boudreau (Charlotte Bartlett), Matthew Keleher, Meghan McAdam (Brad Cyr), Kayla Williams and Matthew Williams, one great-grandson Lucas Boudreau- Bartlett all of Saint John and many loving nieces and nephews and special family friends, Richard, Brenda, Shawn, Barb and Deanna. He is predeceased by his parents, Roland and Elizabeth and his brothers; Roland, Murray and Gordon. For those who knew Raymond, you would have been a witness to a man who spoke his mind, was honest, loving and always had an open door and a chair at his table to share his wisdom and many stories, jokes and songs. He will be forever missed. “Breathe easy and sleep well dear Raymond, you are home”. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21st, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm- 8:00pm at Castle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 22nd, 2017 at 12:00 noon, at Our Lady of Assumption Church. A reception will follow the funeral service at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Interment will take place on Tuesday, May 23rd, at 2:00 PM at St. Josephs Cemetery. Donations in Raymond’s memory can be made to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Canada. Online condolences can be made at www.Castlefh.com
