Obituary of Rachel Cecelia Perry

Rachel Cecelia (Boyd) Perry in her 98^th year passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021 at the Carleton Kirk Lodge with her two loving daughters by her side. Cecelia was born on March 11, 1923, in Saint John, NB to the late George and Janet (Holt) Boyd.

Cecelia is survived by her son Kenneth Perry, daughters; Janet Nice (Wayne) and Carol Anne Basque (Paul), grandsons; Jason Nice (Michelle) and Adam Nice (Marion Ann Berry), great-grandson Andre Nice, several nieces and nephews whom knew her lovingly as Aunt Cece, and many cousins.

In addition to her parents Cecelia is predeceased by her husband of 63 years Harry Osborne Perry, brothers; Merton Boyd, Jim Boyd, Clifford Boyd, and Donald Boyd, and only sister Nina Taylor.

Cecelia was an avid reader, loved puzzles, watching curling on TV and Bingo. She enjoyed many winters spent in Florida at the trailer with Harry, and summers at the trailer in St. Andrews. She was a daughter of the Nile and long-time member of the Carleton Kirk Church.

Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:30 in Castle Fallsview Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Cecelia’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, SPCA or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all of those, 12 and over, attending the Visitation and Funeral Service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government issued ID or proof of medical exemption.
