Obituary of Catherine Florence Dennis
Catherine Florence Dennis (Kingsley) who was born in Windsor, Ontario on January 22nd, 1951 passed away at home New Year’s Eve surrounded by loved ones and constant companion, her cat “Beau” after a courageous year long battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Shirley Kingsley, sister Wendy Brimicombe and beloved Godmother Rosie Findlay.
Cathy is survived by her children Brian Dennis, Christine Noftell (Troy Noftell), Heidi Dennis (Brian Crowe), 5 grandchildren; Conner Dennis (Robin), Taylor Gregg (Matt), CAlly Moore (Kyle), Kaylee Noftell (Trevor) and Caleb Collrin (Marika), 4 great grandchildren; Timothy, Delilah, Thomas and Roman, with 2 more on the way, sisters Bonita Newman (Brian McLain), Mary Ann Chapman (Mike Chapman), Trudy Dugas (Wally Dugas) and brothers Brian Kinsella and Chuck Kingsley.
Cathy passed away 19 years to the day she met the love of her life, Terry Morris. She found joy with the two of them spending the intervening years travelling extensively on cruises to the Caribbean, Prince Edward Island and various military functions.
For many years, she worked in home care but still found the time to watch over her grandchildren so they didn’t have to be placed in daycare.
Cathy loved watching British TV shows, “Friends” and “Frasier”. She was a news junkie who kept abreast of what was happening in the world on her computer and described herself as a logical thinker facing adversity with grit, pride and determination. Cathy didn’t despair or feel sorry for herself at becoming an amputee or when diagnosed with cancer. She met life’s challenges on her own terms and fought an implacable foe to the very end with all she had.
