MIKE AND LINDA TRAVIS would like to share our condolences to the family of Jean. I (Linda) have known Jean since I was a baby. In fact, she was like my godmother and her parents were like my grandparents. Her children were additional blessings given to Mike and me. Jean and her family have always extended to us that special kind of love that that made us feel like part of the family. Thank you, Jean. You will be missed.

Jean was my moms room mate at the nursing home. From the moment I met Jean, I felt an instant connection. This lovely lady certainly brightened any room and her manner warmed all. But most of all, she brightened my moms life and I think mom did the same for her. I will always remember Jean and her sweetness.Thoughts and prayers to the family

Condolences to the Vanwart family on the loss of your mom. So many wonderful memories of your mom and dad, and the whole family from the many years we lived next door (the Doyle family). There was always room at your dinner table for one of the neighbourhood kids. May your memories be a blessing during this difficult time.

We think of the many good times we shared over the years with your mom and dad. They were like grandparents to our children, Tammy, Scott and Lisa. We greatly appreciated their friendship over the years. Keeping you in our prayers.

Jean was like a grandmother to me growing up as her late husband Willard was like a grandfather. They were our upstairs neighbours and treated us so well. We spent nice times upstairs looking over Willard's extensive Andy Capp and other comic collections, having treats that Jean would make (I think it was her date squares I remember best), we also spent lots of nice days up at their summer place. I am so sad to hear Jean has passed. What a wonderful, kind woman. Although they had a large family of children and grandchildren already when we were growing up, they made us feel special and loved as well. Lots of love to the family❤️

Dear VanWart family,
So sorry to read of Jean’s passing. She and Willard were a much loved part of my growing up days on Queen St. She would always say that they use to sit in the living room and listen with delight while my sister and I practiced the piano downstairs. Sending my prayers and love.

I was very saddened to learn of Jeans passing. We were so fortunate that our mother, Edith, was Jeans roommate at the nursing home. They became such good friends. Mom always said what a wonderful lady Jean was. I remember how much Jean enjoyed the date squares I made for her and Mom. Jean always had a kind word and smile for everyone. I’ll miss her and I’m so grateful that I got to know her.

Sending my thoughts to Jean's family, and sharing tears. I am so grateful to have had the chance to spend time with Jean while visiting my mom Edith, and talking on the phone from New Zealand when mom Edith wasn't there. A suitable phrase comes to mind about Jean: "it's nice to know nice people". X Kim durling (parker)
