It is with broken hearts the family of Malcolm Harold Maguire wish to announce his passing, January 18th, 2022, at Bobby’s Hospice.
Born in Saint John, NB on July 18th, 1934, Malcolm was the Son of the late Malcolm W. and Edith (McCavour) Maguire. He will live on in the hearts of his loving companion, Annette McManus. His Son, Michael (Kathryn) Maguire of Saint John. Daughters, Jill (Steve) LeBlanc and Lisa (Gerry) Johnston all of Saint John. Son-in-Law, Ken Keirstead of Musquash, NB. Ten Grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Matthew, Jeremy, Stephanie, Tara, Colton, Mary-Kathryn, Gina and Jolene. 14 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Malcolm was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rita (Driscoll), Daughter Susan (Keirstead), Brother, Dale and Sister, Suzanne. We can’t forget his four-legged buddy, Toby.
Dad was our anchor. He had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of our family. He worked at Irving Pulp and Paper for 31 years until his retirement in 1991. Although he was an Industrial Mechanic, he was a Jack of all trades. There wasn’t any thing that he couldn’t do. He loved to dance, garden, play cards, hunt and fish. He had many adventures with his friends (partners in crime) hunting and fishing. Oh, the stories! He will be deeply missed.
Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Due to restrictions, a private family burial will take on January 27th, 2022. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Malcolm, may be made to Bobby’s Hospice. Online condolences may be placed at www.castlefh.ca.
The family wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the Staff at Bobby’s Hospice for their amazing care and compassion. Also, thank you to all of his friends and family that dropped in for a visit or made a phone call to reminisce of days gone by. Your visits reinforced how truly loved he was by all that he touched. He was truly a legend.
