Obituary of Janis Maureen Connor

Janis Maureen Connor passed away peacefully on April 4, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Saint John, NB) after a struggle with dementia.  Janis was born on March 27, 1950 in Drummondville, Quebec to the late George Edward and Pauline Winnifred (Jones) Connor. 

Janis worked for many years as an administrative assistant for both Zellers and Reitman’s, retiring in 2015. She loved going to the family cottage in Sargent’s Bay. She also loved singing and was soloist for several churches in the Montreal area. 

Janis will be dearly missed by her siblings; Anne Connor Sheppard (David-deceased) Harbour Grace, NL; Don Connor (Sally), Cole Harbour, NS; Cathy Graham (Chris), Mineville, NS; and Claire Connor Groll (Kurt) Rutland, MA, nieces and nephews; Jonathan, Harley (Emily), Mitchel, Matthew (David), Alexandra (Chris), Erin (Andrew), Robert, Keith (Emily), Jeff (Maggie), Kelley (Hunter), Tyler (Francie), grand nephews and niece, Jack, Freddie, Deke, Kip, Owen, Lucy, Theo and Eddie along with many lifelong friends.

The family would like to thank the staff on Level 7 at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion. We, as a family, recognize and appreciate  the high standard of service provided.  

Janis was an avid lover of cats and an active participant in stray cat rescue efforts in Montreal. If you wish to make donations in Janis’s memory, please consider your local SPCA.
