To Kristen and family,
I just read of Jonathan’s passing in the newspaper and am extremely saddened. We met at Church Army college with the other students in 2001 onward when i was auditing some courses to guide me to a deeper level during my B,Th. (Thornloe U) studies. I remember how Shawn and Jon would laugh and tease each other. I can almost hear his laughter. We met again at a church dinner at Lepreau, thrilled to hear he had attended Regent college and had become ordained. He had such a God Given talent in talking with people, and uplifting joy displayed when at Taylor College. I extend condolences to you, Kristen and family. His presence extended to anyone, old or young, and those who he interacted with will always remain in their hearts. May God Bless you all and provide comfort and peace during this very sad time.

Dear Kristen and your family: we pray for the loving peace of Jesus to surround all of you at this very sad annd difficult time! ( Deut 33:27)
May Josephine’s poem bring all of you a reminder of God’s wonderful love!
Tenderly He Calls
Upon the wide and stormy sea I am sailing to eternity,
and the Captain orders me to sail on, sail on through the raging sea.
I abide by God’s high command,
so I will reach the promised land.
He charts my course through the highs and the lows,
and my sailboat glides pass the undertows.
Soon the storm is no more,
then I behold the heavenly shore.
My lifework is ended, and I cross the swelling tide,
then I meet my Saviour on the other side.
He swiftly comes to welcome me.
I am at peace and worry-free.
I gaze into His glorious face
which is imbued with mercy, love, and grace.
Bright light emerges from His caring eyes,
and His smile is understanding and wise.
He embraces me in His warm glow,
then releases me so very gentle and slow.
I walk through the golden gates of the splendid city in a robe of pure white,
and I hear a choir singing songs of ages with blissful delight.
He prepares a mansion for me under the azure sky
where birds sing, play, and fly.
Family and friends praise, laugh, and dance,
and brethen are everywhere over the vast expanse.
I am at home, at home at last
where suffering, mourning, and death are in the past.
I stroll to and rest by the cliffs and waterfalls,
then, there beyond, I see my Saviour coming, tenderly He calls.

Disheartened to hear about (Rev.) Jonathan's passing! Encouraged to share my memories so I recall his smile and love for anyone in Taylor College where we met (students, staff, etc.). I especially recall how he thanked me for sharing my grief openly after he and other students prayed for me when my grandmother passed away. Such freeing words by him for I was a mess. I do also recall one of my favorite moments with Taylor College was a student mission tour to Miramichi and Newcastle, and Jonathan pretended he was in a boat while we were doing a service inside the chapel. He invited another student to join him, and they pretend to go out on the water, only to find that there was some water seeping in. The way those two acted that out was hilarious and it proved the point that we need to be careful in where we put our trust. My deepest condolences to Kristen and the children, to his church, and the greater Anglican community, among so many others who are impacted by this loss.

Kristan and family,
I will always remember the first time that I met Jonathan at St. Paul's in Hampton, He had the energy and enthusiasm of "Tigger". He led the teens and youth with passion, exuberance and a joy of life. When you thought that you had seen everything possible, he would come up with another way to more deeply engage our children with the Lord, the Church family and the community. Although he was with us for a short time, he was loved by many. We have watched as his ministry has blossomed through the years culminating in the appointment to the Parish of Lancaster.
I hope that your memories of his adventures in life will remain strong and guide you as you continue on the journey of life. Lean on the Lord for strength. Jonathan is at peace and is with his Lord.

Kristen and family,
I was so unbelievably saddened to hear of Johathan’s passing. I remember meeting him at St. Paul’s in Hampton when he started there as our youth Minister. I have always held a soft spot for him after seeing how he touched the lives of our teens and shaped them and guided them through the tough teen years. I will never forget seeing how many people he could get stuffed in a phone booth and his bigger and better game, when they would all set out through the community with a pencil and knock on doors and trade up for something bigger and better. Watching the kids walk to the church with a huge desk was quite a task! He was always there to listen, he didn’t judge and he was trusted. My son went on a mission trip to NYC in high school. Jonathan was there as well and they made some pretty amazing memories. His dedication, love and passion for God was obvious, and he showed the kids that church didn’t have to be stuffy and boring but just the opposite and the whole community saw it. He made a huge impact on many people and is now rewarded, while you his family are left to mourn. We are all sad too, Jonathan was loved by more than he knew. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
