Obituary of Florence Ramona Dow
Florence Ramona Dow passed away peacefully on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Turnbull Nursing Home with her family at her side. Florence was born on September 6, 1928 to the late Thomas and Blanche (Skinner) Green in Saint John, NB.
Ramona will be dearly missed by her husband of 71 years, James ‘Jim’ Dow, their children; Leonard (Sheri) Dow, Debbie (Robert) Belyea and Karen (Gregory) Dunham, grandchildren; Jonathan Dunham (Denise), Sean Dunham (Karen), James Belyea (Vasana), Corey Dunham (Heather), Courtney Dow (Alex)and Brittney Dow (Kelsey), great grandchildren; Morgan, Ryder, Travis, Brandon, Io, and Afton. Special friend Artie Kincade, extended family Chantelle and Owen, MacLeod, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Ramona is predeceased by her brothers; Harold, Lincoln, Hartley, Merlin, Richard and Fred Green, sisters; Edith Middleton, Bertha Jones, Eva Marshall, Elva Stephen, Betty Shonaman and Doris Clements.
Ramona was an X -Ray Technician and worked at the Saint John General Hospital before starting a family with Jim. Family was everything to her, she loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was always there for her family, no matter what they needed she always did her best to help them. Ramona and Jim have many fond memories of summers spent at the trailer in Grand Lake with the family and going on road trips together. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, curling, and bowling. Ramona was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
The Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Turnbull Nursing Home for their kindness and care of Mona during her stay.
Arrangements are under the Care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Private Family Service will be held at Castle Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Ramona’s memory can be made to MADD Saint John Chapter, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.ca
