Obituary of Iris Pattman
It is with profound sadness and grief that the family announces the death of Iris J. Pattman, wife of the late James Pattman. The death occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Wednesday March 7, 2012. Born on June 16, 1931, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ida (Brenton) McEachern. She is survived by her beloved companion Merritt Logan; her 3 daughters Brenda (David) Paul, Kathy Pattman (Damian Bone), Jill (Tim) Kimber; adored grandchildren Ashley (Matthew), Matthew, Trevor (Susan), Allison; sisters; Joyce (the late Ralph Gates), Dawn (the late Robert) Doull, Frances (the late Charles) Finley. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Iris was predeceased by her twin sister Irma Jean in 1934; brothers Edgar, Jack; sisters, Phyllis Audrey McEachern, and Vivian Doris Cornfield. Iris worked in the early years for Dominion Stores, also served as Secretary for Local 1065. Mum also enjoyed happy times at their cottage on the East Branch of the Musquash River. Later she became a Medical Secretary and worked for several family Doctors which she enjoyed immensely. Iris loved her family and was always available when needed. An avid reader she could discuss many subjects from world affairs to sports, also our mother had a lovely singing voice which she kept to herself. Cremation has taken place, and a family interment will occur at a later date Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) entrusted with the arrangements The family would like to thank Extra Mural, and Bobby’s Hospice for the wonderful care shown to Mom. Donations in Iris’ name may be made to Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue, Bobby’s Hospice, or the charity of one’s choice.
