Obituary of Rio Roland Deschênes
Deschênes, Rio Roland It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, husband and grandfather. Rio passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, in Saint John, NB. Born in Saint Anne de Madawaska, he was the son of the late Guy and Annie Deschênes. Rio Leaves behind his wife, Jovette, of 48 years. His three children, Richard (Brenda), of Saint John, Sonia, of Saint John and Lynne (Kray) Robichaud, of Eastern Passage, NS. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Luc Deschênes, of Saint John and Dagan, Declan, Caelyn and Reeghan Robichaud, of Eastern Passage, NS. Rio worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for 45 years at Irving Equipment Ltd. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and four wheeling/ATV with his son, grandsons and friends. He was also a 3rd Degree Member of the K of C Council 6770. He also operated his own business for several years (Deschênes Auto Repair) Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Église Saint François de Sales, 291 Boar’s Head Road, Saint John, NB. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit at SJRH. A special thank you goes out to the staff of the SJRH 5C North and Palliative Care for the excellent care that was given to our father and husband.
