Obituary of Ann Copeland Downey
Downey, Ann Copeland (MacKenzie), passed away peacefully surrounded with her loving family by her side on Sunday, June 2, 2013. Born on May 6, 1924 in Montreal, Quebec. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Davina (Copeland) MacKenzie. Loving wife of the late Percy Downey. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Doug) Ewart, Sandra (Danny) Bannister, Nancy Lordon, Catherine Steeves; brothers, James (Lorna) MacKenzie; grandchildren, Susan Broderick, Christine Ewart, Steven Ewart, Karen Justason, Michael Bannister, Andrea Benjamin, Peter Dunham and their father Bill Dunham, Adam Steeves, Holly Steeves; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Olivia Broderick, Addison and Greyson Bannister; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Percy, she was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine, Isabel, Patricia and Mildred; brothers, Fred, David and John; son-in-law, Anthony Lordon. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701). The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 12 p.m until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm from Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel. Interment will take place in the Lorneville Cemetery. There will be a reception held at the Lorneville Community Center following the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Foundation, Church of St. John & St. Stephen Home Inc., The Lorneville Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice.
