Obituary of Dorothea "Dot" Fitzgerald

The death of Dot Fitzgerald occurred on March 18, 2011 at Carleton Kirk Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on November 28, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Harold Trueworthy Draper and Gertrude (Brennan) Draper, and the widow of George Fitzgerald. Dot was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She worked as the receptionist at the Lancaster Medical Centre and for Dr. Brian Garland for many years. She is survived by her son Malcolm (Patricia) of Saint John; daughter Lorna (John) Corbett of Riverview; grandchildren Michael (Michelle), Brian, David (Millie), Stacey, Shelley (Dan), Scott (Nichole); great grandchildren Braden, Emily, Aidan, Nicholas, and Kristen. Dot will also be missed by several nieces and nephews as well as many extended family and friends. Dot was also predeceased by her sisters Inez Black and Margaret “Bunnie” Chittick as well as her brother George Draper. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday March 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Castle Funeral Home “Fallsview Chapel”. A reception will follow at Fallsview Family Reception Centre. The family would like to thank the staff at Carleton Kirk Nursing Home for the kindness and compassion shown to Mom.
