Obituary of Grace Southcombe
Grace Rosalie (Leonard) Southcombe died suddenly after a brief illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital on January 17th, 2015. Born on February 23rd, 1932 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Chandler) Leonard. Grace had a love for life up until her death. She loved to travel and made many excursions to faraway places. Grace and her husband Bill had a winter home in Florida for many years. Grace was predeceased by her husband the love of her life, William Southcombe and her son David Southcombe. She was also predeceased by her sisters; Jean, Olive, Inez, Gladys, Vivian, Norma, Barbara, Thelma and a brother Ronald. She is survived by her brother-in-laws Vernon Dempsey and Arnold Brooks, as well as stepsons Norman (Carol), Geary (Marie), William Jr. (Debbie) Southcombe as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to express thanks for the superb care she received while in the care of St. Joseph’s Hospital. Resting at Castle ‘Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. with visitation to be held on Friday, January 23rd, from 2:00 pm until the start of the funeral service a 2:30 pm.Donations in memory of Grace may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
