Obituary of Nancy Mowery
MOWERY, NANCY It is with great sadness that the family of Nancy Mowery wish to announce her sudden passing at Carleton Kirk Place on Saturday August 13, 2016. Born in Saint John, Nancy was a daughter of the late Percy and Isabel (Martin) Blizzard, and she was the widow of Douglas L. Mowery. Nancy was a bowler, bingo player, avid country music fan and avid Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Nancy is survived by her beloved children, Douglas Mowery (Samantha) and Cathy Smith (Josh) both of Saint John, NB; special friend Don Williams, who was like a son to Nancy; brothers James Blizzard (Norma), Dave (Deanna), John, and Wayne (Pam) all of Saint John, NB; sisters Joan Theall (Buddy) and Betty Ann Lamb both of Saint John NB, Jean Little (Ralph) of Long Beach, NB, Barb Koks (Bill) of Saint John, NB; Gertrude Grant (Chris) of Saint John; grandchildren Kristin Mowery-Comeau, Jean Bastarache, Jonathan Mowery (Aleasha), Eden Mowery-Smith; great-grandchildren Owen, Myah, Payton, and Parker as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Douglas Mowery(2003); brothers Percy Blizzard, Donny Blizzard, Murray Blizzard, Malcolm Blizzard; sister Mildred Blizzard, Doreen Blizzard, and Mary Blizzard. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 16, 2016 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 2:30 PM from Carleton Kirk Chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow the Interment at the Carleton Kirk United Church. Donations in Nancy’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s Choice. www.castlefh.com
