Obituary of Shirley Vautour

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Shirley Carolyn (Waters) Vautour of Saint John, NB, loving wife of Alfred for 55 years and dedicated mother to her children, Carolyn (Andy), Paul (Beverly) and Gary. Born in Saint John on September 25, 1934 she was daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Watters) Shanks. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Dan, Ginger, Katie, Justin, foster sister Donna (Dan Hartley) of Pennfield and foster brother Bill Watters of Alberta, many nieces and nephews, god daughter Connie Haddad and close family friend, James Lyons. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother David and sisters Rose, Florence and Louise. Shirley was a friend to everyone that she met and dedicated to raising her family. She loved flowers, gardening, playing bingo and cherished frequent visits to the family farmhouse in Whirral with her husband. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). At the request of her family, there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 12 noon at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery following the service.
