Obituary of Elsie Reid

Reid, Elsie;With sadness the family announces the death of Elsie Reid, following a lengthy illness. The Lord wrapped his arms around Elsie, and took her home to be with her beloved husband Glendon of 61 years. Elsie was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Alice Armstrong. Elsie was a loving mother to daughter Lana (Dave) Kiervin; sons Brian (Jeannine), David, Kevin (Phyllis), Gary. A caring sister to Louisa (Edward) Patterson and Loretta MacFarlene, grandson, Kevin (Megan), great-grandchild Zoey. Predeceased by her parents, husband and son Peter. Elsie was employed in early years at MRAs, many years a volunteer at the St. John Regional Hospital Gift Shop, in later years as Operations Manager, retiring in 1990. Elsie was a life member of the New Brunswick Association of Hospital Auxiliaries, a deaconess in the Douglas Avenue Christian Church and active in committee work for the Milford Community Center. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3, visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 7-9pm and Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from Castle Funeral Home at 2pm. A reception will follow at the Castle Fallsview Reception Center. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.A heart felt thank - you to the staff of Kennebec Manor for their care and kindness to Elsie and her family these past 3 years.
