Obituary of Roberta Charters
The death of Roberta Audrey Charters, wife of Paul Smith, occurred on September 11, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Wapski on December 7, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Wayman Kinney and Madeline (Murchison) Kinney. Besides her mother, she is survived by her loving husband Paul; children, Victoria (Richard) Lingley, David (Angela) Charters; grandchildren, Keith, Emily, Christopher (Chrystal), Charnele; great grandchildren Hope, and Kali. Bert will also be missed by her brothers Andy (Wendy) Kinney, Daniel Kinney, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Wanda, Ronald, and Gerry. Bert worked for many years at the YMCA. She loved children and was always surrounded by them. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Bert will be missed greatly by all her family and friends. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Monday September 12, 2011 from 7 - 9 p.m., and Tuesday September 13, 2011 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, and reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. Donations in Roberta's memory may be made to the Cancer Society or the charity one's choice.
