Obituary of Miriam Cleghorn
Cleghorn, Miriam Enid The death of Mrs. Miriam “Mims” E. Cleghorn, formerly of Hillcrest Village “Crandall House” occurred on February 15, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Miriam was the wife of 50 years to the late Harold St. Clair Cleghorn. Born in Tracy, N.B. on April 3, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Manzer and “Allie” (Harris) Phillips. “Mims” was a hard working mother and a very strong woman who worked at RCL #69 for 27 years, known to her customers as “Mum” who loved to cook and feed you hungry or not, and enjoyed card parties, auction 45’s with the girls at the complex. She is survived by sons Terry (Jennifer) Cleghorn of Miramichi, and Tim (Susanne) Cleghorn, of Saint John, daughters Susan(Dan) Gallant and Corinne Corcoran, all of Saint John, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Harold, she was predeceased by her parents, son Ricky Cleghorn, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). Visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday at 3 p.m. from Castle Fallsview Chapel. Interment in Harvey Settlement Cemetery in the spring. Following the service a reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre.
