Obituary of Michael Richard Brown

It is with deep sorrow the family announces the death of Michael “Brownie” Richard Brown which occurred on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Michael was born on June 30, 1953 and was the son of Ruth Florence (Lee) Brown. Michael was known for his telephone conversations and was a longshoreman with the ILA Local 273. He is survived by his loving wife Betty Lou Walsh Brown; son Jason Peters; brother Brian Brown; nephew John David Brown of Saint John, NB; cousins Bobby Orr (Connie) of Quispamsis, NB, Patsy Arsenault (Roger) of Saint John, NB, and Jamie (Jeremy) McQuat of Hawaii. Besides his mother, Michael was predeceased by his special cousins David Lee Orr and Jimmy Orr. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Thursday October 6 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Castle Funeral Home with a Legion Service at 7:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Castle Funeral Home on Friday October 7, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers due to an allergy in the family, donations in Michael’s memory can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of one’s choice. www.castlefh.com
