Kay was born and grew up in Miramichi, she met Byron, and together they moved to Saint John in 1961. She worked for many years at the Workman's Compensation Hospital. She was proud of her Irish heritage, and enjoyed many senior's trips, music, “Auction 45's”, and her favorite song "Crazy".
