Obituary of Mrs. Inez Beck
Inez Elizabeth Beck of Saint John passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 28, 2010. She was born in West Saint John on April 13, 1923, daughter of the late Herbert James and Bessie Helena (Lee) Long. Inez was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Arthur B. Beck, who passed away in 2002. She was also predeceased by her grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. John H. Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew M. Long, brother; F/Lt. John H. "Jack" Long, buried in Sicily, sister-in-law; Kathleen "Kay" Long and brother-in-law; Willard Van Wart. She will be sadly missed by her brother; Herbert J. Long, sister; M. Jean Van Wart, nieces and nephews; James (Debbie) Long, Brenda (Edward) Bowron, Janet (Kenneth) Beyea, Jack (Marilyn) Van Wart, Paul (Marie) Van Wart, Karyn (George) Connor, Warren (Laura) Van Wart, Heather (Jim) Cameron, Diane (David) Swan and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Inez had very fond memories and was proud of her service as commissioner of the West/Lancaster District Girl Guides and as a Girl Guide Captain and President of the Girls Branch of the W/A at St. Georges Church. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). In keeping with Inez's wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Castle Fallsview Chapel with reception to follow. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
