Obituary of William Nelson
Nelson, William Stuart The death of Mr. William S. “Whopper” Nelson of Saint John West, husband of Mrs. Nancy B. (Burley) Nelson, occurred unexpectedly on June 15, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Hilda (Reicker) and Ivan Nelson. Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Saint John before retirement. Besides his wife of 52 years Nancy, he is survived by his two sons; Roger (Ruth) Nelson of Morna, Kevin (Jill) Nelson of Bradford, Ont., his daughter Barbara Nelson of Saint John, three sisters; Rhoda Howard of Ontario, Marjorie (Bart) Graham of Saint John, and Donna (Bill) Godfrey of Saint John, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Royden, Murray, Everett (Skip) and Dick Nelson. Funeral arrangements entrusted Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). By request there is no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral service will take place at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Monday at 2 pm. Immediately following the service, a Time of Fellowship will take place in the Church Hall. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
