We are very sad to hear of your loss. Sandy was at our program only a few weeks ago. I did hear he was in hospital but was told no details. Sandy, I believe had great faith. He truly enjoyed music ( he often used the keyboard at our center )and loved the L'Arche center. He will be missed by many especially the joyful laugh. Our thoughts are with you, clients and staff of Centenary Queen Square Adult Care Center, Sincerely Marilyn Gallant, Program Director

It is with great sadness that I learned of Sandy's death this morning. What a wonderful man! I will truly cherish my memories of him: his humor, his great attitude towards life, his gifts as a communicator and, among other qualities, his faithfulness in all things to which he committed himself. Sandy played an important role in the founding and ongoing support of L'Arche Saint John, and for this we will always be truly grateful. Indeed, he will be deeply missed, and we at L'Arche will always remember him with great fondness.

A friendship with Sandy was one that God wouldn't allow me to miss out on. In 2009, I was driving down Douglas Ave. when I spotted him for the first time and God told me to stop, get out and meet him. I initially thought he had been drinking by the way he walked, but I was reassured that he wasn’t and that he needed a friend. So I said hello and asked if he knew Jesus as His Savior. Sandy lit up and declared “Yes”, that Jesus was his Lord! I offered him a drive, and that was the beginning of a great friendship. We saw each other often. He was able to confide in me and we prayed together inviting Jesus to help him however he needed. He came to Victory Assembly with me and met people there who showed him God’s unconditional love. I enjoyed his excitement singing to God and his love for Jesus! Even though his was a difficult go at life, the Lord’s joy was his strength and we certainly did laugh a lot! I am very saddened to hear of Sandy’s departure; I had been meaning to call him and write but I am not good at keeping in touch ( I had moved away 2 yrs ago.) I am happy though because … Salvation is found in no one else but Christ Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:11 Grace, Sarah

I met Sandy during the summer of 2009, a gentle loving soul that reminded me of a dove caught in a wind storm, even though the wind tried hard to blow him down he gracefully adjusted his wings used the wind to push himself forward. I remember one time he invited us to lunch at his school and introduced us to everyone, bless you my friend my life is richer because I knew you, happy landings : )
