Obituary of Catherine Ruseff
Ruseff, Catherine Margaret (Kay) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on March 2nd, 2012. Kay was born March 3rd, 1937 to Loretta and John Green. Kay is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Ronald Ruseff, and three daughters Mary Jo (Danny) Banks, Cathy (Mike) Long of Saint John, Lana (Gary) Brown of Moncton and loving grandchildren Ryan (Heidi), Andrew and Katie Long, Jennifer (Anthony) Scovil, Jillian Banks (Kristopher Tingley), Jaclyn and Jeffrey Banks, Grace and Elizabeth Brown and great-granddaughter baby Claire Scovil. Kay is also survived by nine sisters, Shirley (Weldon) Moir, of Fredericton, Nancy Plante (Al Cole) of Nackawic, Valerie Carmody of Saint John, Dolores Ross, Norma Hardy, Glenda Lussier, Lorraine Green, Joyce (Bob) White all of Ontario and Maureen Carters of Australia. Three brothers Lorne (Marge) Green, David Green (Joan McGuire) and Kevin Green (Ruth McSorley) all of Saint John. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Peter, Robert and Jack. Also survived by sisters-in-law Gloria Williams of Saint John, Kay Merwin, Greta Ross and brother-in-law Fred (Irene) Ruseff all of Ontario and also by many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends. Kay grew up in the north end of Saint John and graduated from Saint John Vocational High School in 1956. Throughout her lifetime she worked at Scotia Bank, Royal Trust, Hartt Building Supplies and retired from Melanson Waste Management. Kay raised her family and was very active in the community of South Bay. She enjoyed her weekly card club and the company of her friends and neighbors. Kay spent many happy summers with her family camping at Pine Cone Campground, and later in life she was happiest when surrounded by her friends and family at her beautiful cottage in Cambridge Narrows. Visitation at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Monday March 5, 7-9pm and Tuesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass will be held Wednesday 11am, St. Rose of Lima Church, interment at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Center, following the interment. Donations in memory of Kay can be made to IWK, Hospice (Bobby House) or charity of donor's choice.
