Obituary of Irene Goodwin
Goodwin, Irene, It is with extreme sadness the family would like to announce the passing of Irene Goodwin, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on July 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Inez Leger (McCray). Irene was previously employed at the Provincial Hospital in Saint John for many years as an R.N.A.. She was an avid walker and stayed very actively involved in many activities. She enjoyed spending quality time with her son, Randall and other members of her family and numerous friends. She enjoyed travelling and visiting new places around the maritimes with her sons faithful companion Harley (Bo). That always kept her smiling. She is survived by her son, Randall Goodwin, of Saint John, NB, Michael Goodwin, of Edmonton Alta, Raymond Goodwin and wife, Gloria of Edmonton, Alta; daughter, Sandra Scott and husband, Russell of Edmonton, Alta; brother, William (Bill) Leger and wife, Ida of Truro, NS; sister, Marjorie (DeeDee) Randall of Moncton, NB, Roberta McDonald of Moncton, NB, Annie Eddegt of Moncton, NB, Vivian Keating of Saint John, NB, five grandchildren, Geoffrey Scott, Amanda Scott, Caroline Moore (Scott), Shelly Kincaid, Jody Goodwin; four great-grandchildren, Georgia Moore, Everett Moore, Olivia Kincaid, Jack Kincaid; numerous nieces and nephews all of Moncton, NB, besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Herbert Leger, Francis (Frank) Leger, Hector Leger, grand-child at infancy. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John West, (634-1701) visitation will take place on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 12p.m. from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Interment to follow at the Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Fallsview Reception Center following interment. Donations may be made to the Carleton Kirk Seniors Assoc or S.P.C.A.
