Obituary of Lorna MacGillivray
Lorna Elizabeth MacGillivray (Doone) passed away peacefully and with grace on October 12, 2013 at Lisaard House in Cambridge. Born on June 19th, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Senator J.J. Hayes and Maude (Logan) Doone of Black’s Harbour. Lorna will be met by her beloved husband of 58 years Jim, and will be missed by her children Johann (Brian Gallant) of Kitchener, Sandra (Michael Lonergan) of Peterborough, and Donald (Marisa Saullo) of Woodbridge; and her seven grandchildren: Phillip, Patrick, and Edward; Samantha and Erin; Logan and Alexander. She is survived by her sisters Shirley, Eileen, Elizabeth, Jean, Sheila, and Doonie and will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Allen, Hayes, and an infant brother Joseph. She will also be fondly missed by the MacGillivray’s and her friends in both New Brunswick and Florida. She will be remembered for her spirit, style and story telling. Lorna will be resting at Castle Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, N.B. E2M 2L3, visitation will be held on Friday October 18 2013, at 2-4pm and 7-9pm, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of The Assumption Parish, on Saturday October 19 2013, at 10:00 a.m. before interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For friends and family in Ontario, a memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony Daniel’s Parish, 29 Midland Ave., Kitchener on Saturday October 26th, with reception to follow after the service.
