Obituary
Obituary of Frances Taylor
It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Theresa Taylor announce her passing on September 9, 2011 at Bobby’s Hope House. Born in West Saint John on September 14, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Helen (Hogan) Taylor. Frances is survived by her loving sister Darlene (Rodney) Clayton of Saint John, as well as her cherished niece and nephew Jenna and Daniel. Fran will also be missed by her uncle, Walter Taylor as well as several cousins and many friends. Fran was a proud graduate of Saint Vincent’s High School (1967) and a member of the New Brunswick Society of Retired Teachers. She retired from Saint Patrick’s School in 2002 with 33 years of fulfilling service. In addition to her family, she enjoyed spending time with her many close friends whether it was celebrating St. Paddy’s Day, birthdays, other occasions, playing cards, and board games or taking day trips, and numerous trips south. Fran’s quiet times at home were spent with Niki, her beloved cat of 19 years. Fran was an avid bowler and reader; cross-country skiing, hiking, walking, volunteering at her church, and in more recent years snow shoeing brought her much joy and laughter. She was a selfless, kind, considerate, reliable, appreciative, and compassionate person who put others’ well being before her own. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 2-4, and 7–9 p.m. Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 12 noon at Our Lady of the Assumption where Fran was a lifetime member. The interment will follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bobby’s Hope House, The Animal Rescue League/SPCA, or an elementary school of your choice towards their library, breakfast or lunch programs or to help any child in need. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Bobby’s Hope House for their dedication, kindness, love, friendship, and care given to Fran.
