Obituary of Rita Craft
The death of Rita Anne (Quinlan) Craft, wife of the late Hazen Alward Craft, occurred on January 13, 2012 at The Carlton Kirk Lodge. Born in Saint John on February 10, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Lyons) Quinlan. She is survived by her brother Robert “Bob” Quinlan of Saint John, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Rita was also predeceased by her siblings John Quinlan, Mary Johnson, and Evelyn Miller. Rita was a member of the C.W.L and Assumption Parish. She was an avid bingo player, a member of the Bowlmore Bowling League and the J.O.I. Club. Rita worked in the family store on Guilford Street with her father, and continued after his death until her retirement. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, January 16, from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 12 noon. at Our lady of the Assumption, with the interment to take place at Old Cedar Hill Cemetery. Donations in Rita’s name may be made to The Canadian Liver Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
