Obituary of Thomas O'Donnell
O’Donnell, Thomas Passed away at home on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Born in Welsford, NB on October 11, 1936. He is the son of the late Bernard and Christine (McKay) O’Donnell. Loving husband of S. Doreen (Reid) O’Donnell, of 50 years. Thomas served in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a member of the Royal Canadian legion Branch #69 and the Ex-Service Lunch Crew. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and worked as a mechanic for Welsford Forest Products for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Doug “Sonny” (Terrina) O’Donnell; daughters, Dawn O’Donnell and Diane (Terry) Pittman; Brothers, Albert (Linda) and Gordon (Darlene); sister, Mary (Ed) Johnson; grandchildren, Adam O’Donnell & Hayley O’Donnell, Michelle Pittman and Courtney Pittman; aunts, Mary Kirkpatrick and Jessie Jonah and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701) visitation will take place on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Castle Funeral Home. A reception will be held at the Fallsview Family Reception Center, following the service. Donations, in memory of Thomas, may be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society.
