Jean and Family; I am so very sorry to hear about BooBoo's passing. I first met him when I started at Point Lepreau almost 35 years ago. He was a genuine, straight-talking man who never left you wondering what he was thinking. He always wore a big grin and treated everyone alike. He never changed over all these years. His sense of humour and upbeat attitude was contagious and he always made me smile. I remember seeing the reaction of the staff in the Oncology department at the SJRH when he was there. It was easy to see just how much they enjoyed their time with him. I'll also never forget his crazy "hair" hat he wore during his treatments. Deepest condolences from my family and I. Rest In Peace, my friend.

My first real memories of Boo Boo was when Jean and I went to school together. I remember her saying "they call him Boo Boo"....and I wondered where that nickname came from. Not sure I ever found out lol. I also remember when Baby Kurtis was born and that was devastating when he passed at such a young age. I can just picture that Kurtis was there to greet him. :) We watched you fight the big fight with such determination...Miracle Man...that was YOU! The other thing worth noting was the "LOVE"...love for Jean, love for his kids, love love for his grandkids and a special love for all his Siblings and friends who truly stood by him. RIP Boo Boo and know that your family will continue to be cared for by your guiding light and the wonderful network of people who surrounded your lives.Stephen & Debbie

I had the pleasure of meeting Boo Boo while working at Lepreau a few years back and somehow got to talking of family challenges. If you have ever met someone out of the blue and immediately clicked with a person, you may be able to relate as I did ,of how sincere a man he was. From the little time I was fortunate enough to speak with him he wore no facade and was," What you see is what you get kind of guy." A hard worker from the heart. We trust the God of all peace will be "your peace' during these days and the days ahead.Blake & Linda Tibbetts

My sincere condolences to his family. I grew up with the Dean family. In fact, my uncle married BooBoo's sister, Gail, who passed away, not long ago. When I think of BooBoo I think of laughter. He truly was a nice guy! Even as a young boy, he was always kind and always laughing. He was always doing something to make you laugh. He reminded me of his father, Jack, who was another kind soul. I haven't seen BooBoo since we grew up, but I can't imagine he changed much from the person he was. The Deans were people who would give you the shirt off their back, even if it was the only one they owned. I have many fond memories. I am certain BooBoo will be greatly missed by many. May he rest in peace.

All of us on Grand Manan are devastated for you all. My favorite times with Boo Boo was when I went to Ross Island daily wrinkling. Boo Boo and Gordie would be on their buggy's and Boo Boo would always race me.. LOL I loved the company and the races. They would wait for me just before the passage, Boo Boo with his tender heart would tell me how much better I was doing, and that i was getting hard to beat. Ha-ha. I felt better wrinkling with the knowledge that Boo Boo and Gordie were handy. The love for family and spouse has been a wonderful example to all of us.There are just no words to express to you all, aside from he may be out of sight but his love and light continue with and in each of you. What a wonderful legacy.

Booboo was such a good man. I'll never forget the first time I met him over on the island. I had the boys out clam digging (they were 10 and 12) and they had managed to get half a pail full and were so proud. Booboo took one look at those tiny clams and dumped the bucket, my boys were devastated! Then his face lit up and he said come on boys lets go fill this with real clams! Being Mike's best friend, I smiled and thanked him and my boys jumped into the truck with him (a little scared but trusting me he was safe to go with) and off they went to where the "men" dig. They were back in no time at all with 3 smiling faces and a very full pail of good sized clams! Ever since that day, I have only gained more wonderful memories of Boobo with his smile, easygoing, helpful, and loving ways. Most of those memories include his bestfriend and wife Jean!My heart is breaking for all of you and I'm praying for each of you daily. Your family has been through a lot and each of you are strong. Love you ❤
