My sincere condolences to all of the family on the passing of Dewey. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.I first met Dewey when I became his nephew's (Kevin) girlfriend and liked him instantly. He had such a good sense of humor and so friendly. I would see him walking around the harbour whenever I was at the "camp" which was directly across from his home in Dipper.Dewey always had a good word about everybody and was so helpful whenever or wherever he was needed. He was always telling me that I shouldn't stay at "the camp" in Dipper Harbour all by myself. (Kevin was usually on the road with his work) He was nervous for me and came to visit whenever I was there for the week-end. I remember him telling me not to go out doors after dark in case a bear was around. So concerned and caring. He passed along some good advice to both Kevin and I and we really appreciated it.I know how hard it is to lose a loved one but remember all the great memories you all have of the many years you enjoyed Dewey. He has gone Home but he will never be forgotten. I sincerely hope you all know how much you are thought about and I hope knowing that so many people loved Dewey ,will help you through this difficult time.My deepest sympathy, Theresa Janes

Our deepest condolences to the Janes family and Bawns. I grew up seeing Dewey in church, always with a pleasant smile and a little joke. Being friends with his granddaughters, I got to see him as the church man and the family man. He was so friendly and so nice :) I always remember seeing him on his bike in Dipper Harbour / Maces Bay. We are praying for your family at this time and praying you receive the comfort of knowing he is with his Saviour in heaven, out of pain and in eternal peace. God Bless you!

Diana, Kathy and Scott, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. It seems we have lost so many wonderful people from down home. I have many fond memories of your dad from being around your home with Diana. He always had that big smile and chuckle for everyone. I have to tell you though that my fondest memories of him were his visits to my grandmother Ethel Belmore. Every week or two he would drop in to visit her for an evening. She just loved having someone to talk hunting and fishing tales with. He would make her laugh and smile and she would talk about it for days after. There were always the Halloween nights that he would visit her in costume and she would no have a clue who he was at first. She would look forward to Halloween to see what kind of get up he would have on..LOL I want you all to know that those visits sure brightened many evenings for an older lady who lived alone. But those are only the visits to one senior that your dad made. Being the the friendly caring man that he was Im sure you will hear many more stories of his kindness and compassion for others. I know your hearts are broken right now as mine was a year and a half ago when I lost my own wonderful Dad who also thought a lot of Dewey. Cherish your wonderful memories. They will be with you forever. It will keep him close. Im sorry that I will not be able to travel to the wake or service but know that my heart breaks with you and for you all. You will be in my thoughts and prayers over the next while......Cindy .
