Obituary of Joan Pollock
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan Pollock, wife of the late Reginald Pollock on June 14, 2011 at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on May 9, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Levi Akerley and Sarah Jane (Hughes) Akerley. She is survived by her cherished son Wayne (Judy) Pollock and her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Jeffrey (Vanessa) Pollock and their son Marcus, Jennifer (Troy) Elliott and their children Emma and Drew. Joan will also be missed by her special niece Sandra (Ken) Maber, with whom she had a special bond as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Joan was also predeceased by her siblings Evelyn Hillion, Estella Belyea, Elsie Shephard, Fern McLean, and Betty Scott. Joan was a beautiful singer and dancer and danced with many dance troops within the city. Her greatest joy was to have the love of her life Reg by her side, whether it be at the camp, canoeing, fishing, or enjoying the great outdoors as they so often did. They will now be joined together once again. Rest in Peace Mom Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Thursday June 16, 2011 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home. The reception will follow at Fallsview Family Reception Centre and a private interment at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home for the care and compassion shown to Mom. Donations in Joan's name may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of one's choice.
