Obituary of Shirley Joye Kingsley
Shirley Joye Kingsley (Bent), passed away on July 1, 2013 at her residence on 411 Ellerdale Street. Shirley was born on July 16, 1929 in Lepreau, New Brunswick to the late Gordon and Lillian (Donner) Bent. She graduated from Dalhousie School of Nursing in 1950, where she met her husband Charles Kingsley and began a 63 year love affair. Shirley is survived by her husband, Charles; sons Brian Kinsella (Edith), Charles Kingsley (Marsha); daughters, Catherine Dennis (Terry Morris), Bonnie Newman (Brian McLain), Maryann Chapman (Mike), Trudy Dugas (Wally) all of Saint John; brothers, Harold Bent (Wanda), of Lepreau, N.B., Don Bent (Bonnie), of Pocologan, N.B.; sister, Eva Mielke, of Petawawa, Ont; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her brother, Jim; sisters ,Florence and Della; daughter, Wendy; grandson, Sean; granddaughter Jennifer. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701). At the family’s request there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 1:00 p.m. from Castle Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Lepreau Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
