Obituary of Eleanor Hewey
Hewey, Eleanor - Mrs. Eleanor Hewey passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 18, 2014. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Dorothy Shephard. Over the years Eleanor was involved in various church activities and was a member of St. Georges/St. Judes Anglican Church. She was a member of the Woman’s Institute, and a member of the original Local Service District, Parish of Musquash. Eleanor showed her love for her family and friends through her quilting and knitting. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband Malcolm Hewey; son Andrew Hewey (Pamela) of Saint John; daughters Wendy Maxwell (David) of Saint John, Beth Ryder (Todd) of Oromocto and Cathy Mawhinney (Curtis) of Chance Harbour; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Survived by two brothers Douglas (Barbara) and William both of Saint John; two sisters Darlene Losier and Marilyn Nordstrom (Syl) both of Saint John; also survived by sister-in-law Rosanne Shephard of Prince of Wales. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Wesley Edgar “Eddie” and her sister Jean Colwell. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 7-9pm and Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Castle Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10am from St. Georges Anglican Church. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Church Cemetery Musquash. Donations made to MS Society, Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
