Obituary of Elsie James

James, Elsie Dorothy The death of Mrs. Elsie D. (Stilwell) James, formerly of Whipple St. Saint John West, wife of the late William H. James occurred on December 22, 2010 at the St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Union Settlement, Queens Co., N.B. on August 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Blair and Gladys (Fanjoy) Stilwell. She is survived by her children: Nancy (Dwight) Thorne of Saint John, Susan (George) Northrup of Codys, and Thomas (Vivian) James of Saint John, her sisters Ethel Boyd of Long Creek and June (Ernie) Blanchard of Red Head, grandchildren Rachel (David) Harris, Matthew James, Robyn (Jose) Mendoza, great-grandchild Miguel Mendoza, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her husband William, sister Doreen Welton, and brother Gordon Stilwell Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 2 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at St. Jude’s Anglican Church on 11 a.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Following the interment a reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre Donations in memory of Elsie to St. Jude’s Anglican Church, the Animal Rescue League, St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
