Obituary of Agnes Duplessis
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden loss of our wonderful mother; Agnes Rose Duplessis, of Saint John, N. B., who passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday January 30, 2014. Born on September 26, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Getto) Thurbide. She is survived by her husband Wilfred Diplessis; five sons, Gordon (Carol), of Saint John, Willard, of Sydney Mines, N.S., Bernie (Rosanna), of Hampton, N.B., Blair (Alma), of Antigonish, N.S., Gary, of Clarenville, N.F.L.D., one daughter, Vonda Harrison, of Saint John, N.B., 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, six brothers, Steve (Colleen McIntyre) Thurbide, of Bras d’Or,N.S., Donald (Bev) Thurbide, of Cole Harbour, N.S., Brian Thurbide, of Sydney Mines, N.S., Kevin Thurbide, of Sydney Mines, N.S., Alex Thurbide, of Red Lake, Ontario, Lawrence “Lornie” (Sharon) Thurbide, of Sydney Mines, N.S., four sisters, Barbara (Anthony) Dijobbi, of South Haven, N.S., Bernice Gillis, of Red Lake, Ontario, Carly MacNeill (Jim Grant), of Sydney Mines, N.S., and Linda (Warren) Gillis, of Millville, N.S.. Agnes was pre deceased by her parents, brothers, Benny, Joseph, Anthony, one infant sister, sister –in-law Anne Marie Thurbide, one nephew Darren, and one granddaughter, Leigh Ann. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, N.B. E2L 2L3, with visitation being held on Sunday February 2, 2014 at Castle Fallsview Chapel from 2to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday February 3, 2014 from St. Rose of Lima Church at 12:00 o’clock. A reception will be held following the Mass at Denis Morris Community Center. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens in the spring. Donations to Romero House Soup Kitchen would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www. Castlefh.com
