Pat and children: I was so sadden to have received your email of David’s passing. I know he was the love of your life and that you were his. I have some great memories of our friendship and I will never forget his kindness to me on my visit or his unexpected phone calls to check to see how I was doing and to ask "when you comin to visit again darlin"...he always made me feel so very special. Patti... ever time I look at a teapot I think of David and him saying “come visit again Darlin and I will have the teapot on for ya” :-) he was truly a kind and sweet gentle soul who loved and cared deeply about you all. We may not be related by blood, but you are family to us. Wish we could come home to celebrate Dave's life with you, but we'll be home next week and will see you then. Richard & LaurieI was working on a house next to Dave and Pat's, replacing floor joists under a house. The day they were starting work Dave was in the driveway, offering advise (go figure!) and he mentioned to watch out for the "brown recluse spiders" (picture and hear his knowledgeable warning!). Imagine working in a crawl space under a house with a string of light-bulbs and the shadows they cast, every spider looking like a tarantula, and hearing Dave's warning ringing in your ear! There were many dead spiders (brown recluse or not) at the hand of a framing hammer! Looked forward to Dave's stories from there on. RichardWe were all at a hockey tournament in PEI, had a long chat with Dave, I loved his insight, depth and honest observation of humanity (including me) - tell it like it is Dave. Also loved his voice (and hearing Alex and Mike doing "Dave"). Laurie
