Obituary of Myrtle Burpee
Burpee, Mrs. Myrtle Jane The death of Mrs. Myrtle J. (Hopkins) Burpee, wife of the late Almon Burpee, occurred on August 26, 2011 at the Carleton Kirk Lodge Nursing Home. Born in Chipman, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Beatrice (Murray) Hopkins. Myrtle was a member of Carleton-Kirk United Church. She is survived by sisters Mary (Howard) Lemon of Chipman, Fay Scott, Dorothy Chase, Ruth (Bill) Sommerville, Ruby Anderson, all of Saint John and Verna Glenn of Chipman, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, and husband Almon, she was predeceased by sisters Hazel Hopkins and Marina Laskey, brothers Charles, Murray, and Goldwin Hopkins. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 1 p.m. from Castle Fallsview Chapel. Private family interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Following the service, aTime of Fellowship will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre.
